British tennis star Katie Boulter has announced her engagement to Australian ace Alex de Minaur.

Boulter, 28, has been with 25-year-old De Minaur for more than four years and on Monday morning shared a picture of the couple together – with a ring showing on her finger.

“We’ve been keeping a small secret,” she wrote in a caption, with a smiling face emoji.

A list of well-wishers left comments below her post after the announcement.

It’s not yet clear when the tennis pair plan to tie the knot, but they could face off in direct competition at the United Cup in Australia early next year.

Great Britain and Australia have been drawn in the same group for the tournament.

She recently told Sky Sports News she “wouldn’t say I am thrilled at the idea of playing him all over again”, with De Minaur ranked number nine in the world.

“Obviously, he is a top-10 player, he knows how to play tennis,” she said, while adding she is “looking forward” to the match.

“There’s a personal side of it as well, which is difficult but also great for bragging rights.”

Boulter, ranked 24 in the world and Britain’s female number one, previously said they have “helped each other in so many different ways”.

“Firstly he’s there for advice,” she told Sky Sports News earlier this month.

“He’s got some credence, so I have to take his advice on board and I don’t mind listening to him once in a while.

“I don’t know if he takes it well from me but he knows what he’s doing. He’s been around the sport for so long, even though he’s so young.

“He’s got such great experience and he’s already been through so much.”
