Winnipeg firefighters quickly extinguished another wildfire early Tuesday.

Crews were sent to a grass fire on the 200 block of Warman Road at 5:10 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A large wildfire caused explosions, damaged or destroyed buildings and led to emergency evacuations in north Transcona afternoon Monday afternoon. Firefighters were sent to an area on the south side of Gunn Road and east of Day Street at about 2 p.m. and had the blaze contained by about 5 p.m.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews battled two other grass fires Monday afternoon. One, at the rear of Balaban Place, was called in at about 4:30 p.m. Firefighters were sent to a fire, near Rue des Trappistes and Pembina Highway, about an hour later.

Crews battled at least three other wildfires Monday morning, in Whittier Park and on the 2900 block of McPhillips Street and the 1100 block of Logan Avenue.
