Dashcam video of deadly GSP chase shown at suspect’s bond hearing in DeKalb
Dash camera video shows the tense moments of a pursuit by Georgia State Patrol in Dekalb County that ended when the suspect crashed into another driver, killing him.
The video was shown in court by prosecutors Monday, used as evidence that 23-year-old Faduma Mohamed is a flight risk. The judge denied bond.

Mohamed was already out of jail on bond for kidnapping and robbery charges.
“She began to drive very badly through various parts of DeKalb County,” explained Dekalb County Assistant District Attorney Ryan Patrick before showing Georgia State Patrol dashcam video from April in court Monday.
The video showed the two minutes where Mohamed was pursued for speeding: from Interstate-20, to a busy Moreland Avenue when she’s accused of driving through a red light, hitting and killing innocent driver Cooper Schoenke.
“She was sweating, exhibited mood swings. She appeared to be under the influence of something,” said Patrick.
Prosecutors laid out previous crimes Mohamed is charged with. A court filing to revoke a previous bond outlined accusations that on two occasions Mohamed met up with men, took them to an apartment complex where the victims were approached by masked men who drove the victims to ATMs to withdraw money.
Cooper Schoenke’s mother was in the courtroom.
“Yesterday was Mother’s Day. The first day in 19 years since I’ve been a mom I didn’t have my son,” said Kate Schoenke.
Prosecutors said they also found pills and marijuana on the suspect.
Cooper Schoenke’s mother vowed to be in court whenever Mohamed appears.
“I will be here every single time,” she said.
